St. Joseph Man Indicted On Child Rape Charges
Indictments have been returned against a St. Joseph man accused of perpetrating sexual crimes against a local child.
On August 1 the Lawrence County Grand Jury returned indictments against William Douglas Farr, age 69, of 1 Yocum Lane, charging him with two counts of rape of a child.
Sheriff Jimmy Brown reported Monday that the indictments were the result of an investigation that spanned nearly two years. Involved in the investigation were detectives with his department as well as the Department of Children’s Services, A Kid’s Place, and the District Attorney’s office.
Brown said that as detectives continued to work the case, “It became clear that Farr was the perpetrator of these heinous crimes.”
Farr was arrested on Friday and incarcerated at the Lawrence County Detention Center without bond.
Anyone who has information regarding child sexual abuse is urged to contact local authorities. You may contact the sheriff’s department at 931-762-3626.
